Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Summer Adventure?
The Summer Adventure is your ticket to summer at all four Carnegie Museums. Let Andy CarnegieBot be your museum guide for museum events and members-only opportunities. You’ll collect stamps as you attend events and more, boosting your chances to win prizes during a special drawing at the End-of-Summer Trivia Night. More stamps = more chances to win!
When is the Summer Adventure?
The Summer Adventure officially kicks off on June 16th at the grand opening of PPG Science Pavilion™ at the Carnegie Science Center. It runs throughout the summer, finishing with the End-of-Summer Trivia Night on August 25.
Am I eligible to win prizes?
To participate in the grand-prize drawing on August 25, you must be a Carnegie Museums member, and above the age of 18. The End-of-Summer Trivia Night is a members-only event. However, any adventurer can exchange their Andy CarnegieBot points for posters and other great prizes at a museum store.
Can I play the Summer Adventure without a phone?
If you prefer a printed map, pick one up at any museum admission desk.
What are stamps?
When you visit a museum or attend a special event, you’ll scan a special code with your phone to collect a stamp digitally. Tap 'My Adventure' to see what stamps you have earned, and learn how to unlock new stamps. If you have a printed map, you can ask for a stamp when you check in at the admissions desk.
What are achievements?
You earn achievements when you participate in trivia, polls, and other Andy CarnegieBot activites. These extra activies won't earn you stamps, but you will collect points that can be exchanged for prizes at the museum stores.
How can I exchange my achievements for prizes?
Visit a museum store and let the staff know that you'd like to collect your Summer Adventure reward. Depending on how many points you collect, you can receive different prizes like posters, temporary tattoos, or store discounts! Note: Andy CarnegieBot discounts cannot be combined with other offers or used for telescopes.
How do I turn in my stamps for the final drawing?
If you're attending the End-of-Summer trivia night, just bring Andy CarnegieBot with you to the final drawing. Museum staff will record the number of stamps you found, as well as your member ID. If you used a paper map, bring that instead! If you are not attending the event, record your member number on your paper map and mail it to Advancement and Community Engagement, Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
What happens if I can’t attend the End-of-Summer Trivia Night and the prize drawing?
No worries! You can still be entered for the prize drawing. If you win, we’ll notify you right away and you’ll have 7 days to claim your prize.
